Look closely at the interior of a well-finished boat and you will notice something curious: not a single screw in sight. Bulkhead panels, ceilings, access hatches, linings — everything seems to float in place. What hidden fixing is

A hidden fixing system replaces visible screws with press-fit connectors concealed between the panel and its substrate. The panel is offered up, pressed in and held fast; to remove it, you pull with the right tool and the connector releases without damaging either the panel or the substrate. The result is clean surfaces and, above all, removable ones: behind a boat's ceiling or bulkhead there are always cables, pipes or through-hulls that sooner or later will need inspecting.

Where it makes the difference

• Ceilings and headliners: electrical and plumbing access points reachable without marks.
• Bulkheads and linings: aligned panels with no screw heads or cover caps.
• Furniture and technical hatches: quick access to bilges, tanks and valves.

A practical tip

Before you commit to panelling a whole interior, ask for a sample and run a real test with your panel and your substrate: five minutes with the connector in your hand settle more doubts than any catalogue.
